Saltbox

The proposal

Highways England have submitted a planning application to erect a Highways depot comprising maintenance building, salt barn and ancillary offices plus parking, landscaping and all associated engineering works.

The proposal is for land North Of Town Lane Adjacent Junction With New Road Halnaker.

The proposal will look like the image below. The building is 12m high and clad in silver metal cladding.

The Neighbourhood Plan team believes that any such development on this land is likely to be the start of development all along this road.

The development is totally inappropriate for a rural location on agricultural land.
